Jordan Opoka
Undergraduate Student & SROP Fellow
Jordan is an undergraduate student at UIC in the Honors College studying toward a B.S. in Psychology & B.A. in Criminology, Law, and Justice on a pre-medicine and pre-law educational path. He joined the lab in September 2024 under the advisement of postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Max Loh. Over the summer, he was a fellow for the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) and is currently working on an Honors Capstone project investigating the effects of visceral malaise on the nucleus of the solitary tract. Beyond his involvement in the lab, he enjoys exploring the city, traveling to new places, working in the Emergency Department and Outpatient Department and volunteering at a local hospital, and maintaining physical and mental well-being through an active lifestyle.
